      Journalism Jobs - January 10

TotalJobs has a good-sounding reporting job (£21k) from recruiter Media Contacts and a reporting gig (£22-25k) for a media B2B from recruiter PFJ.

On Journalism.co.uk, another (or is it the same? I couldn't tell) gambling publication is looking for freelancers. A website for a children's hospital is looking for a writer/project assistant (£19-24k). And Crain need a technical reporter (or possibly freelancers) for a polymers magazine. They have nice shiny new offices near London Bridge. Will that make up for writing about polymers? Not likely.

The Guardian has a job from Newsquest for an online financial journalist (£22-24k). And Impact Recruitment are looking for an editorial assistant (£15k) for a publishing house.

On The Careers Group, Pearson is advertising their summer internships for "Ethnic Minority Graduates and Final Year students" at their companies, including the Financial Times, Penguin Books and Pearson Education. They pay £1100/month and there is an information night in mid-February.

Claire posted in her forum at redbus.co.uk for freelance writers for a new website (unpaid).

Craigslist has an advert from Le Cool online magazine, looking for a London editor (1000/month, so they say). A coupon shopping website (a what now?) is looking for a freelance fashion writer (pay TBD).

Haymarket needs a senior reporter for Media Week, a reporter for Human Resources, and a reporter for Third Sector, as well as a part-time senior reporter for marketing magazine Direct Response. Those are the latest in a big pile of jobs recently advertised on that site.

And Patrick over at Press Gazette (you may remember he won their reality-tv-styled contest) is doing an investigation into work experience at newspapers: "I'm want to know how many people do it, why they do it and what (if anything) they get out of it. I'm particularly interested in speaking to people that have had an exceptionally bad time (or even an exceptionally good time) when on placements and in getting their opinions on the whole thing." So if you've had a good/bad time, drop him a line at psmith@pressgazette.co.uk.
