      KP Publishing are looking for an editor/project manager, via Journalism.co.uk.

      On the Guardian jobsite, recruiters Xchange Team are looking for a web editor (£140/day).

      JobSite has an advert for commodities writers with three languages. There's also an ad for a web content editor for two months (£9-10/hour).

      A few on londoncareers.net from recruiters PFJ. They're looking for freelance finance writers (£100-135/day), a telecoms editor (£31-40k) and a features correspondent for a property magazine (£25-30k).

      If you've got a bio-sci degree, MacMillian and Nature have a few new ones up.

      Future's Health and Fitness is looking for a subeditor.

      And the good folks at Journalism.co.uk are having a drinks night on the 15th of February at Albannach, which is a super-nice whiskey bar.

      Journalism Jobs - January 30

      On HoldtheFrontPage, something called First Features is looking for freelance features writers for a variety of topics. The South London Press needs a sports reporter/subeditor.

      The Careers Group has an advert from a literary agency, which is looking for an intern. A Japanese television production company needs a researcher, preferably with language skills. And al-Arabiya News are looking for a researcher/assistant producer with an interest in Middle Eastern politics. Web company Lycos needs an intern as well.

      The Moodie Report has advertised on Journalism.co.uk for an online content manager. Everyinvestor.co.uk is looking for a personal finance journalist. B2B publisher Pageant Media is looking for a subeditor with a year of experience.

      On JobSite, a local authority is advertising a month-long web content editor position (£13/hour). A local government newspaper is looking for a subeditor (£23k).

      Emap's Local Government Chronicle needs a subeditor -- could be the same job as the one directly above. New Woman needs an editor. WGSN needs a Europe editor.

      On Craigslist, some fashion/style blog thing is looking for interns/writers. Avalon Travel Publishing need a writer for their Scotland travel guide.

      Haymarket is looking for a discographer -- alternatively called a "classical music data entry operator" -- for Gramaphone. PlanningResource.co.uk needs an online journalist. And Horticulture Week still needs a reporter.

      Journalism.co.uk has an advert from Mobile News, who need a reporter. An events/diary company called Year Ahead is looking for researchers (£17k).

      Ok, this one's in Kent, but the name is too crazy. A beauty publisher needs a features writer for it's nail magazine... called Scratch. That's awesome.

      The super-cool Battersea Arts Centre have advertised on The Careers Group for a press and marketing intern.

      On TotalJobs, something called Forum Europe is looking for an editor/copy writer.

      Archant have advertised one of their senior reporter jobs (listed on Friday, I think) on HoldtheFrontPage.

      NatMag's Zest needs a deputy features editor.

      Haymarket's GP newspaper needs a deputy medical features editor, while their Independent Nurse still needs a subeditor.

      Press Gazette has updated their job site for the first time in over a month to let us know a tabloid in Bermuda is looking for a subeditor/writer. Mmm... sunshine.

      On the Guardian jobsite, a nursing magazine needs an editor. Contract publisher Wordwide is looking for an editorial assistant to write and subedit (£18k) and a publishing assistant (17k).

      Amnesty need an online editor -- tho this feels familiar and might be a repeat (26k).

      Star Magazine is looking for a senior picture researcher while Hachette Fillipacchi is looking for a picture assistant.

      The International Institute for Strategic Studies needs an assistant editor for their Adelphi Papers. The LSE is looking for an indexer/editorial assistant (20-23k).

      Redwood's Fabric is looking for an art editor. Which? is looking for a writer/researcher for their home products section (20-28k).

      The lovely people at Dennis' PC PRO are looking for a subeditor and a designer.

      The Current Science Group's BioMed Central has a pile; they need a senior editor, publishing editors, editorial production assistants, an editorial manager and assistant editors.

      The Royal College of General Practitioners needs a senior assistant editor (25k).

      Children's publisher Walker Books needs a designer and copy editors.

      Online financial news people ShareCast are looking for a graduate trainee journalist (£21k), as well as a more experienced financial journalist (31k).

      And recruiter PFJ has advertised for a news reporter with a year of experience for a retail B2B (20-21k) as well as a deputy editor (22-25k).

      For those of you who asked, according to the Guardian's website, the trainee program is set to be advertised from April, so you'll just have to wait until then.

      It's like the battle of the red-top subeditor training schemes: The Sun just announced there's on HoldtheFrontPage, while check out Wednesday's post for the Mail's program. Local Government Chronical is looking for a (fully-trained, presumably) subeditor (£24.5).

      On Journalism.co.uk, Haymarket's Horticulture Week is looking for a reporter. Argus need a global energy markets reporter. And Infrastructure Journal online is looking for a reporter.

      Informa need an editor for some mobile communications publications.

      On Gumtree, EMMA online are again looking for researchers/writers -- given they only pay expenses, that might be why they advertise so much. A new contemporary classical music magazine is looking for writers.

      From the Guardian job site... Efinancial Careers need an online production editor and an online writer/content manager (£40k).

      JobSite has an advert for an online web editor (as opposed to an offline web editor?) and another for a writer/subeditor for Sport Business Group (so specifically vague...).

      IPC's Horse and Hound -- yes, Kelly, they do indeed exist -- need a picture editor.

      Centaur's The Lawyer needs a senior city reporter. NatMag's Best needs a senior subeditor.

      Archant need journalists for their Docklands operations, and also have a few old openings in London and more jobs across the UK, so check out their site here.

      On Journalism.co.uk, super-charity Amnesty International is looking for an online editor (£25.5k). New Energy Finance needs a finance writer/news editor while Fastener and Fixing Europe magazine -- whee! -- needs an assistant editor (£18k).

      Diary-service ForesightNews (not, uh, foreskin -- which I totally didn't type twice, I swear) are looking for a researcher (£17k). MoneyWeek is looking for a senior financial writer/editor.

      This is shiny: What's On London needs a reporter/editorial assistant.

      If you're up for the wonders of Dubai, Nicholas Publishing is looking for a stack of journalists.

      If you speak Polish, Norwegian, Mandarin, Taiwanese, Japanese, Russian, Turkish and/or Greek, some people desperately need you to subedit, via Gumtree. That site also has an advert from recruiters Reilly, who are looking for business and newswire reporters.

      Daily Mail has advertised on HoldtheFrontPage for some more freelance picture editors. They're also offering paid training for subeditors, which is pretty cool.

      Something called visiongain has advertised on JobSite for a business journalist to work on B2B newsletters.

      On the Guardian jobsite, Future needs an art editor. Sky needs an assistant program information editor, whatever that is.

      The BBC is totally getting ahead of themselves, and have advertised for an Olympics correspondent, which they spelled wrong.

      Skep's Home Entertainment Weekly -- a DVD magazine -- is looking for an editor.

      A Primrose Hill radio company is looking for a production assistant/PA. Recruiter Career Moves have advertised, with many exclamation marks, a variety of production roles.

      On Craigslist, some hotels website wants to pay you poorly to blog for them. A dance website needs a freelance writer. And clubbing magazine MixMag needs an editor.

      Found a new journalism site -- or they found me -- called Darryl Wilcox Publishing. Has all sorts of shiny tools, but the one we want is jobs, which is on their site SourceThatJob. On that site, Surveyor magazine needs a reporter, as does TelecomTV. Family History Monthly still needs an assistant editor. The rest are all repeats or old, but worth a look.

      On Journalism.co.uk, Bang Entertainment is looking for an entertainment journalist.

      The Careers Group has an advert from Logos World Group, who need designers and editors for a new lifestyle magazine. A Camden-Council-funded documentary is looking for an editor and runners.

      On HoldtheFrontPage, North Surrey and London newspapers need a chief photographer. And, as usual, they have a ton of regional jobs, too.

      The Guardian has a few from legal publishers Wolters Kluwer UK. They need editors for CCH Information (£20-24k), and for publications about health and safety (£20-23k) and international trade and transport (£20-23k). They also need development editors for iCroner (£25-30k) and their health, safety and environment portfolio (£20-25k).

      NatMag's Prima Baby and Prima both need features editors and Good Housekeeping needs a senior subeditor (scroll for these jobs).

      And this is shiny: IPC are looking for online editors across their titles.

      Fleet Street Publications is looking for a senior financial writer/editor with three year's of experience for their MoneyWeek magazine. John Brown need a managing editor with fluent German for a business magazine. EuroMoney need a bond reporter/graduate trainee.

      Thomson Sweet and Maxwell group need a researcher/writer (£23-30k) for their IDS research organsation.

      Book publisher Usborne is looking for an editor/writer for their children's division.

      Premier Christian Radio needs a breakfast journalist and web designer.

      H Bauer are looking for an editorial assitant and a group editor for their puzzle magazines.

      Time -- the world's leading newsmagazine, according to them -- is looking for a reporter, art director and freelance designers.

      On Gumtree, there's an advert for a German-speaking commodities journalist (£28-40k). And a part-time reader/editor is needed for an evening shift, 4:30pm to 9pm during the week (£7.50/hr).

      On Journalism.co.uk, the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining is looking for a web content manager. The very nice folks at Heren Energy down in Greenwich are looking for an energy markets reporter with languages (other than English, obviously).

      Over on the Guardian jobsite, TNT Magazine are looking for a staff writer. PFJ has one for a publications editor for a medical publisher (£20-25k) and a production editor (£26-30k) for an "energy information provider".

      The Lancet needs an assistant editor with a science degree.

      Current affairs publishing house Gibson Square has advertised on the Career Group for a postgrad intern.

      Newsquest are looking for a trainee reporter (£14k) for the News Shopper, based in Orpington.

      Archant need a subeditor for the Newham Recorder.

      On Journalism.co.uk, McGraw Hill's Platts needs two copy desk editors, a production assistant, a commodity journalist, a news/markets reporter and a reporter/editor . The Reporter -- "the UK’s biggest technology and science news website" -- needs reporters with at least two years of experience and a subeditor. Haymarket has again advertised for a part-time journalist for their direct marketing magazine.

      Guardian is thin today -- must have got all the Monday jobs up yesterday... But check their print edition, too.

      This is the second time I've written this post. The first version was eaten by a piece of shit computer in a piece of shit internet cafe. (I love paying to waste my time. Not at all frustrating.) And today, my Google homepage is trying to tell me it's December 31 -- I'm jetlagged, but I didn't fly that far. Seems like it's time for a sacrifice to appease the gods of the interweb... any volunteers?

      On Journalism.co.uk, Centaur's Precision Marketing is looking for a production editor. Emap's Nursing Times needs a news reporter with two years of experience. Some visa-getting company (I think) needs a senior editor/writer for their website and other external communications.

      HoldtheFrontPage has an advert from Haymarket's Brand Republic, which needs a deputy production editor and a subeditor. Don't forget: that site has tons of regional jobs, too.

      On Craigslist, an online publisher is looking for part-time sports information researchers (8-10/hour). And a London restaurant guide book is looking for a freelance editor.

      The Guardian jobsite has a few. Ocean Media Group needs a feature writer. CMP's Building needs a technical writer and an assistant web editor (to write, upload and subedit). Metal Bulletin needs reporters.

      The Folio Society needs a typesetter/page layout person. Lewisham Council are looking for a magazine designer (£26k). Wigmore Hall needs a part-time publications assistant (£15k pro rata).

Experience at a consumer monthly is not essential, but "knowledge of popular and/or high culture, films, TV, or celebrity is vital".

      Newswire AFX is still looking for subeditors. Global Insight are again looking for country editors.
      A B2B magazine publisher called SameDan needs an editorial assistant. Something called Niche Personal Loans needs a reporter. And recruiters Xchange Team ahve a client looking for an ebusiness journalist to write a blog (£20/hour).

      A premiership football club is looking for an inhouse reporter.

      Recruiter Reilly are also looking for a graduate commodities reporter. PFJ are looking for a subeditor for a health weekly (£26k), a deputy features editor (£22-25k) and a news editor. Career Moves needs a production assistant (£19-21k).

      And a ton of web editor positions -- some requiring techie skills, some not -- from the Royal Schools of Music (£21.5-24.5k), Lambeth Council (£29k), Family Mosaic (£25k), Rambert Dance Company (£18k pro rata/part time), the Science and Development Network, and a publisher called TSO (£20k). It amazes me that these places want someone with writing, editing and web management skills, and yet pay so generally poorly. Anyone this qualified should be making craploads, don't you think?

      On the BBC, the Weakest Link needs question writers/researchers. They also need a production team assistant for their "Repeats and Reversioning unit", and an assistant content producer for Slink, their website aimed at teenage girls.

      TotalJobs has a good-sounding reporting job (£21k) from recruiter Media Contacts and a reporting gig (£22-25k) for a media B2B from recruiter PFJ.

      On Journalism.co.uk, another (or is it the same? I couldn't tell) gambling publication is looking for freelancers. A website for a children's hospital is looking for a writer/project assistant (£19-24k). And Crain need a technical reporter (or possibly freelancers) for a polymers magazine. They have nice shiny new offices near London Bridge. Will that make up for writing about polymers? Not likely.

      The Guardian has a job from Newsquest for an online financial journalist (£22-24k). And Impact Recruitment are looking for an editorial assistant (£15k) for a publishing house.

      On The Careers Group, Pearson is advertising their summer internships for "Ethnic Minority Graduates and Final Year students" at their companies, including the Financial Times, Penguin Books and Pearson Education. They pay £1100/month and there is an information night in mid-February.

      Claire posted in her forum at redbus.co.uk for freelance writers for a new website (unpaid).

      Craigslist has an advert from Le Cool online magazine, looking for a London editor (1000/month, so they say). A coupon shopping website (a what now?) is looking for a freelance fashion writer (pay TBD).

      Haymarket needs a senior reporter for Media Week, a reporter for Human Resources, and a reporter for Third Sector, as well as a part-time senior reporter for marketing magazine Direct Response. Those are the latest in a big pile of jobs recently advertised on that site.

      And Patrick over at Press Gazette (you may remember he won their reality-tv-styled contest) is doing an investigation into work experience at newspapers: "I'm want to know how many people do it, why they do it and what (if anything) they get out of it. I'm particularly interested in speaking to people that have had an exceptionally bad time (or even an exceptionally good time) when on placements and in getting their opinions on the whole thing."       If you're a student or recent graduate and want to intern as a trainee reporter in the south of France, well, lucky you. Decision News Media is looking to fill five such positions.

      Still on journalism.co.uk, Citywire is looking for three new reporters and an investment website needs a reporter.

      TotalJobs has an advert from a business website looking for an online editor (£25k).

      On Gumtree, Lyceum have again advertised for a poker journalist.

      Recruiter Media Types has advertised on londoncareers.net for a staff writer (£23-25k) for a monthly B2B newspaper and an online subeditor (£21k).

      The BBC needs an Arabic-speaking broadcast assistant.

      Craiglist has an advert from a Fulham FC fansite, looking for a blogger. Yet another "ground-breaking" online magazine wants writers -- unpaid, as usual. And a music video site needs a reviewer and a journalist (unpaid).

      And the Guardian now has a RSS feed for their jobs search (they call it a "web feed" and it shows up on the page after you've entered your search details).

      On that job site, Hodder Publishing is looking for a desk editor for educational textbooks -- is there any other kind? Centaur's Money Marketing is looking for an investment journalist.

      The London Society of Theatre (or Society of London Theatre) is looking for a publications assistant (£18k). The Institute of Marine Engineers needs a writer.

      The Times Higher Education supplement needs freelance designers, picture editors and picture researchers.

      Hot Courses is looking for a editor (25k) as is the Folio Society. Something with the rather vague name "Communications International Group" -- apparently they do health and beauty stuff -- is looking for a production/publishing assistant and an editorial assistant. Environmental Finance Publications is also looking for an editorial assistant, as is the College of Occupational Therapists. And, bloodly hell, Thomson Learning also needs two editorial assistants.

      Egmont is looking for an editorial assistant for their Disney magazines, an editor for their Barbie publication and a subeditor to work on their Thomas the Tank Engine titles. Sounds delightfully childish.

      CAFOD, official development and relief agency of the Catholic Church, needs a writer/subeditor, as does the Refugee Council.

      Hayward Medical are looking for a subeditor. Some health care journal is looking for a subeditor and an editorial assistant.

      Tradewinds needs an energy journalist. A publishing house needs a staff writer for two aviation titles (£20k).

      The soon-to-launch Monocle is looking for a managing editor, web designer, chief subeditor and editorial assistant.

      On Gumtree, a Lyceum gambling magazine is looking for two freelance news journalists as well as a poker writer (16/day for two short stories).

      Recruiter Media Contacts has advertised on TotalJobs for real-time financial journalists for a news agency. A public sector website needs an editor/content writer and a health site needs a web editor.

      Looks like Journalism.co.uk has swung into full gear after the holidays. A publication called Mining Communications is looking for a senior subeditor and Reed's flightglobal.com is looking for an online editor (based in East Grinstead -- I was actually there once, if you can believe it).

      Still on that site, property publisher Farscape is looking for a news/features editor. And Recruit Media has advertised there for a chief subeditor at a financial publisher (£35K-£40K), a reporter on a technology publication (£20-25k), an online manager for some site (£30-35k), and an editor (£24-29k) and subeditor (£24k) for intelligence stuff.

      On the Careers Group, something called Enitharmon Press is offering work experience placements. And something called Merrell Publishers is offering a publishing internship. And a literary agency is offering a flexible internship (3 hours a week).

      Newsquest has advertised on Hold the Front Page for two senior journalists. The Daily Mail needs a deputy editor. Sick of winter? Move to Bermuda; they need senior reporters.

      On Craigslist, the wonderfully-named Shiny Media is looking for bloggers for a variety of topics (paid -- not sure how much). Some website is running a humor writing contest (prize is $50).

      If you're looking to get a start in journalism, this is a good-sounding one. Publishing company Informa has advertised a graduate recruitment program on the Careers Group (and also on Gumtree). Called "Media Academy", it offers 12-months of training in conference research, editorial, marketing and data/analysis.

      Also on the Careers Group, a private equity book publishing company is looking for a comissioning editor (£18-25k) and Anthem Press need assistant development editors. Something called the Gulf Centre for Strategic Studies needs a graduate for some freelance research work.

      On journalism.co.uk, a contractor website is looking for a freelance journalist. The BBC needs a senior content producer and Red Bee has an opening for a chief subeditor for their tv listings.

      The Mail online is looking for a deputy editor.

      PFJ has advertised a stack on the Guardian's jobsite. The recruiter is looking for an editor for a finance publication (£26-30k), an investment writer (£31-40k), a market reporter (£26k-30k), a technology subeditor (£22-25k) and a publications editor with a life sciences degree for a medical publication (£22-25k).

      The BBC has also advertised on the Guardian site for an assistant content producer and the aforementioned Red Bee is looking for planning assistants (£19k).

      On Hold the Front Page, the Croydon Guardian is looking for a trainee reporter.

      Incisive needs a senior reporter for FX Week. That publisher has a few openings for business reporters and subeditors.

      Haymarket needs a senior editor and an art editor for its automotive section, and a subeditor for Independent Nurse.

      Future's Playstation World needs a deputy editor.
