      Journalism Jobs - October 19

Press Gazette have posted a few new jobs -- which is good, as sounds like they could use the ad revenue right now -- including a super shiny one from the Times Educational Supplement and their Higher Education Supplement, who are looking for news reporters. Great job for recent graduates, as you've recently been students...

Journalism.co.uk has a a job for an entertainment journalist for a showbiz news agency. You must have some newspaper/reporting experience. They also want people for work experience.

And Recruit Media have an advert for a senior journalist (four years' experience) for a medical trade magazine.

On the Guardian, a national health charity needs a part-time electronic information officer (£24k pro rata). MTV Europe need a licensing assistant.

Recruit Media have posted on the Guardian for an assistant editor with three year's experience and a senior assistant online editor -- that's a great title, eh? how can you be senior and assistant? -- with some science or biomed background.

Websters is looking for an editorial assistant for Encarta (£16k).

On HoldtheFrontPage, Emap's Health Services Journal is looking for a reporter with two years' experience.

Some interesting ones on the Careers Group. A small Japanese publishing company in Bermondsey is looking for a student to help edit books and magazines in English (low pay). Notting Hill Media want full-time and part-time grads/undergrads for paid work experience. And if you speak Japanese, CNN want you for work experience on a football program.

And MacMillian need an assistant editor (£17k) for their books department -- Sarah, how about this one?

A new gay travel site needs writers, via Craigslist. Another website is also looking for freelance writers, but the subject is hard to discern (£25/article).

      On LondonCareers.net, a food magazine needs a subeditor (£25-27k).

A new website launch from Gorkana, called AboutMyGeneration.com and focuses on babyboomers (contact ron@aboutmygeneration.com for details/freelancing/on spec CVs). Don't forget that Gorkana will list your details as a freelancer and send it out to thousands of high-level media folks for free... Not too shabby.
