      Journalism Jobs - August 31

      Time Out is looking for a subeditor for its TV pages for four days a week. They're also still looking for freelance subs.

      On the Guardian job site, British Film Institute is looking for a temporary online content editor for their film festival. Position runs for one month.

      Gumtree has an ad from a "global magazine" looking for "well connected fashion and culture journalists". No mention if it pays.

      Craigslist also has a couple. Some new website needs venue reviewers to write about bars, restaurants, ect for $2.50 a shot. Someone else is offering to pay you -- yes, you! -- $550 a month to write about software. Sounds too good to be true, and therefore dodgy. And some football-mad people need someone to write blogs and manage other bloggers. Pay sounds high, so therefore also dodgy.

      The Careers Group has a job from The Other Media group for a recent grad to create/edit client copy (£16k).

      Total Jobs and PFJ have combined their forces to offer a job for a reporter with 18 months' experience at a B2B (£22-25k).

      On Jobsite, a national charity needs a publishing assistant (£22k) and a magazine publisher needs a subeditor (£21-22k). And a medical publisher needs someone with a biosci degree for an online editorial role.

      Journalism Jobs - Augst 30

      On Journalism.co.uk, retail travel site the Moodie Report -- such a great name -- needs a hard-working online reporter (£17-22k).

      Infrastructure Journal is looking for a reporter -- ideal for a first jobber, says them.

      Dow Jones needs a bond markets reporter. And PersonnelToday.com needs an online editor.

      The Guardian has a job opening, with a magazine publisher called Greythorne, for a subeditor (£21k). The British Association for Adoption & Fostering has a job for a deputy editor on their Be My Parent newsletter (£25k).

      Nature magazine needs an associate editor -- must have a biosci degree of some sort.

      The Equal Opportunities Commission needs a media team assistant (£19-22k).

      PressGazette has one for a reporter on a B2b (£23k) and another for a subeditor, also on a B2B (to £26k).

      Not much on the Guardian jobsite, despite the Mondayness...

      Datascope recruitment are looking for a subeditor (£21k). Rose Inc need temporary media admin workers.

      Onelife, "Land Rover's award-winning travel and adventure magazine", needs an editorial assistant.

      The Daily Mirror needs subeditors for their features department.

      And Business Monitor International also needs a subeditor.

      ...but good stuff on other sites...

      Journalism.co.uk have a cool-sounding one from Decision News Media, for a trainee science reporter. They also have one for a trainee business reporter, which is obviously less cool.

      Dow Jones are looking for a equity markets reporter. And Emap have a job opening for a reporter at their weekly magazine, Health Services Journal.

      Holdthefrontpage have a trainee reporting job, at the Hendon Times in North London.

      On TotalJobs, financial site infranews are looking for an editorial assistant. According to them: "The position is an excellent opportunity for a candidate seeking a way into journalism."

      Craigslist has a listing from yet another new London-based online publication about the arts. They are looking for writers; they say they pay, but don't count on much. And some website needs young, hip writers to work for free. Because that's what young, hip writers do. Apparently.

      Journalism Jobs - August 25

      Really cool sounding one on the Guardian jobsite today, from XchangeTeam. They're looking for freelance "editorial experts" for freelance assignments -- subs, editors, journalists and copy writers. They're also looking for a subeditor for a B2B (£22k).

      A TV listings company needs subeditors. A global technology publisher needs a news reporter (c£25k) for a gaming portal. I think that means a website.

      NatMags needs a web editor for Cosmo.

      On Journalism.co.uk, a business information/research organization needs research editors. Diary service Foresight needs researchers (£17k+). Business publishers of some sort need an energy market reporter.

      Ooh, and the Press Association is looking for journalists.

      And there's jobs up on craiglist for a copy editor, hotel writer, and one-off proofreader.

      Journalism Jobs - August 24

      Big pile o' jobby goodness on Journalism.co.uk today. Supply Management magazine -- ooh, exciting -- needs a subeditor (£24k).

      Roots Worship are looking for a freelance editor. And the Austrian Tourist Office are looking for an online researcher/editor to help them sell the Alps (£24k).

      And Decision News Media have jobs for a business reporter and a science reporter.

      Not that it's exactly journalism, but MTV need a research assistant (via the Guardian jobsite).

      Careers Group has a job for an admin assistant at a publishing firm.

      On TotalJobs, recruiter PFJ is on the lookout for a B2B reporter with a year's experience for some property publication.

      And Holdthefrontpage has a job from Barcroft media, for an experienced real life reporter.

      Press Gazette have a new one from Bloomberg for reporters and editors.

      They also have a good-sounding editorial assistant position (£17-18K) for some B2B: "You will be writing news and features, subbing, proofing, helping with the magazine's design plus liaising with contributors and representing these titles globally." Sounds better than data entry, reception and making tea...

      Haymarket have a few new ones, including a reporter for Brand Republic website and a news reporter for GP magazine.

      On Gumtree, the publishers of Asian Woman need a deputy editor for a new launch.

      Craigslist has an advert from a US finance magazine, looking for a freelance correspondent ($.75 to $1 a word).

      The Careers Group has a posting for a Mandarin translator for a tv documentary.

      Guardian has a job posting for a part-time web editor at the Horniman Museum (£24k pro rata).

      Recruiters PFJ have advertised on Press Gazette for a reporter on a B2B property magazine (£22-25k).

      On the Guardian, Money Observer Magazine is looking for a staff writer with one year's related experience.

      Susan Hamilton Group is looking for a newsdesk assistant (£21k), via Total Jobs, who also have a posting for an editorial assistant (£21k).

      On Holdthefrontpage, the Croydon Advertiser needs a reporter.

      Journalism.co.uk has a few from Future for a new launch. They're looking for a movie editor and a tv editor for a new entertainment site.

      JobsIn has one for an online editor for a mail order book site.

      On Gumtree, FilmExposed are again looking for writers (unpaid).

      Emap's Zoo still needs a subeditor.

      IPC are looking for an editorial assistant/reporter for their cycling magazines. Sounds very cool.

      At NatMags, both Esquire and Harper's are looking for subeditors.

      It's Monday, so here's a pile from the Guardian jobsite...

      The Times Educational Supplement needs an online community editor as well as sub editors and a reporter.

      A Thompson unit needs entry-level online content editors. The Journal of Joint and Bone Surgery has an opening for an editorial production assistant.

      Recruiters PFJ are looking for an assistant editor on a B2B for someone with two years' experience (19-21k), as well as junior and senior subeditors (20-28k).

      Titan need editors for film and tv magazines -- must have an interest in Star Trek and Buffy. Man, I loved that show.

      And the Guardian itself has a one-year traineeship for a new photographer. Very cool sounding.

      On Craigslist, some research firm needs an editor/proofreader, as does a marketing student.

      Gumtree has an advert from arts/ent magazine Hello London for a work experience placement (unpaid).

      On Journalism.co.uk, Bloomberg needs a french tv reporter, and Future's GamesMaster needs a staff writer.

      Careers Group has an advert for a Russian text editor.

      And on Holdthefrontpage, Local Government Chronical is looking for a news editor. The South London Guardian/Surrey Comet and Richmond and Twickenham Times group are looking for a subeditor.

      The Guardian has two jobs from Incisive Media. The first is for a European reporter, with a year's experience. The second is for a subeditor.

      John Brown Publishing are looking for an editorial assistant for children's magazines.

      On Craigslist, a freelance photographer is looking for writers to work with. And some website needs people to write about country music (paid).

      Emap's Screen International needs a web editor.

      At Haymarket, Practical Motorhome is looking for a subeditor, as is Campaign. Regeneration and Renewal need a reporter.

      At NatMags, Zest needs a beauty assistant.

      Design Week is looking for a sub.

      On Jobsite, a gaming publication needs a news reporter (£24-25k).

      Press Gazette has a senior reporters role, via PFJ recruiters, for someone with a few years' experience (£23-24k). That combo also has a subediting job from some media B2B (£19-23k). And yet another, also a subbing job, for a B2B, for someone with a year's experience (up to £26k).

      On the Guardian, Inspired Selection are looking for an editorial assistant for a specialist book publisher and editors for pharma publications.

      Changes recruiters are looking for a tv assistant (18-20k).

      Journalism.co.uk have an interesting one from Wenn.co.uk for an entertainment writer/sub (£18K). They say it would suit a recent graduate.

      A news agency called London at Large has jobs for a researcher (16k) and diary editor (17k).

      Future need a staff writer for a Windows magazine. Book and Magazine collector need an editor (23k). And the publishers of Icon magazine are looking for a production editor.

      TotalJobs has a job listing for a financial reporter (24-28k). Holdthefrontpage has a posting from Big Pictures, who need celebrity photographers.

      Careers Group has an unpaid internship for some financial/pr/marketing/journalism group.

      And on Gumtree, a journalist with knowledge of New Zealand culture is urgently needed for two weeks, starting this Friday.

      On the Guardian, Folio Recruitment are looking for experienced freelance subeditors and production editors. And a business publication called mad.co.uk needs a senior reporter with two years' experience and a reporter for maternity cover.

      Gumtree has a posting from an Archant publication looking for an editorial assistant for two months: "Would suit university leaver looking for publishing experience."

      Careers Group has a posting (again) from IR Magazine, looking for a graduate journalist (£20-22k). And Halban Publishers need a publishing assistant for three hours a day (£10/hr).

      On TotalJobs, Solicitor's Journal needs an editorial assistant.

      Holdthefrontpage has a job listing at a regional newspaper near Gatwick for a trainee reporter.

      Jobsite has a posting for a subeditor at a weekly law enforcement magazine (20-22k). On Monster, a travel website needs an editorial assistant.

      It's Monday, so a few on the Guardian jobsite... Two very cool ones from a group called Children's Express. They need a journalist and a part-time journalist to work alongside kids as they put together publications and broadcasts (£20-22k).

      Nature is looking for a managing subeditor. A global publishing house needs administrative assistants. A different publishing firm require an assistant web editor. And yet another is looking for a web assistant.

      The Folio Society needs an editorial/rights assistant. John Brown Publishing is looking for a picture researcher.

      Magazine firm BH Publishing has a job for an editorial assistant: "great opportunity for 1st/2nd jobber."

      A Japanese newspaper needs a researcher and the Science Photo Library is looking for a science grad for a job writing captions.

      And the Guardian itself needs a senior reporter and a production editor.

      On Journalism.co.uk, something called Playstation Project (a new launch?) is looking for editors, ect, based in Bath.

      The South London Press has advertised on Holdthefrontpage for a senior reporter.

      Craigslist has a job for translators from English to Spanish, Italian, Russian and Japanese. And online London magazine needs humour writers.

      Good ones on journalism.co.uk. New Scientist needs an environmental news reporter with one to five years' experience. Local Government Chronical has a job for a news editor. And recruiter Reilly is looking for a junior news reporter for a business intelligence publisher (22-30K).

      IR magazine needs a "bright, talented young journalist" for news and features (£20-22k). And a facilities management magazine is looking for a news editor.

      On the Guardian, a children's website needs a production assistant -- includes writing work (£20-22k). Sage book publishers are looking for an assistant production editor.

      Business Monitor, via Careers Group, have a job opening for a subeditor for maternity cover.

      Monster has a job listing for an editorial assistant for a travel website (18-20k).

      On Gumtree, a new "innovative" -- so says them -- website/online magazine needs writers willing to work for free. And BlueSky Group have a cool, diverse-sounding job for a journalist doing subbing, writing, and layout. And some random site needs an entertainment editor -- not much detail on who they are, so be wary.

      Emap has openings for a sub (maternity cover) on Retail Week, a reporter (mat cover) on New Civil Engineer, and web editor (not mat cover) for Screen International.

      And Thompson Financial are hiring a whole bunch of people -- see Press Gazette for the list. Also there, Matrix needs celebrity photographers -- if you can call that journalism.

      On Journalism.co.uk, the publishers of ICON magazine are looking for an assistant editor for a new magazine launch. And Red Bee Media need listings writers/subeditors (£19.5k). Standard and Poor's MarketScope needs stock market journalists (reporters and interns), preferably with languages.

      The Careers Group has a job from Visiongain, who are looking for an online media assistant (£16k). And CNBC Arabia need a production assistant.

      Lots on Holdthefrontpage.com, but they're all regional. Check that out if you're will to move to wilds of the countryside...

      On Gumtree, some guy named Tim Copper needs a temporary assistant to a freelance journalist -- presumably him -- for two weeks (£6/hr.)

      Jobsite has one for a Danish subeditor (£19k).

      Monster has one via Adecco for a junior editor in Chiswick -- sounds more like communications work than journalism tho (£16k).

      And Dennis Publishing have advertised on TotalJobs for an entry-level production assistant (£16k).

      On the Guardian jobsite, recruiter Media Contacts are looking for a subeditor with two years' experience for a global security and law enforcement publisher (£22k). And Recruit Media are searching for a freelance food editor for a magazine (£140/day).

      Press Gazette has a job listed for an experienced markets reporter for a business-to-business publication (£25-35k).

      Journalism.co.uk has a posting from Which?, who need an assistant editor -- you'll need a bit of experience for this one. And there's another job for a business features writer based in Surrey.

      English PEN need a fundraising intern, via Careers Group.

      BBC World Service needs an assistant producer.

      Journalismjobs.com have a job listing from Dow Jones, who are looking for an energy markets reporter, preferably with experience, but "recent graduates in a related subject and with language skills will also be considered".

      A few on JobSite... A legal publishing firm needs a production assistant (17k), and someone on the south coast is looking for editorial assistants and publishing assistants.

      And Future have a job opening for a staff writer/online assistant at Home Entertainment Week magazine.

      Gumtree has a cool sounding one for an editor for a property publication (18-24k).

      On the Guardian today, KP Publishing have a job for at a magazine for a news/web editor for with NCTJ, a degree, and either French, Spanish or German (23k). They also have a job opening at a publishing firm for a "second jobber" journalist with two years' experience (20k). I'll add them to the recruiter page, as they seem to have a lot of work.

      The National Maritime Museum needs a content developer for their website (21-26k).

      On Careers Group, slightly dodgy looking website Britain.tv is looking for remote journalists to be published online. And Euromoney has again posted their advert for trainee financial journalists.

      Craiglist has a posting for full-time junior bloggers and one looking for writers for some vague online London magazine.

      And on Gumtree, FilmExposed have again advertised for freelance film writers (unpaid).

      Future publishing needs a news editor and a news writer for a tech website launch. And Money Management Magazine have a job for an editorial assistant. And Journalism.co.uk have a bunch of Dow Jones/Bloomberg positions.

      Guardian has a couple from recruiter Media Contacts. They have a job for a deputy editor for entertainment listings (£20-25k) and an associate editor with 18 months' experience for a B2B (£21k).

      The horribly named Ovum Europe need a intern (unpaid) to assist their editorial team, via Careers Group.

      There's also a job posting for a reporter for Emap's Broadcast magazine, and recruiters TMN are looking for an associate editor for health care sector magazines (£21k). And Citywire is still (ie, it's a repeat) looking for news reporters and online reporters.

      On Holdthefrontpage, Drapers fashion retailer magazine needs a reporter, a features writer, and a deputy news editor.

      Craiglist has postings for freelance writers for an online women's magazine and an online kink magazine.

      Gumtree has job listings for a proofreader, a freelance editor/designer, and an English/Afrikaans journalist.

      On Monster, Thompson Financial needs an assistant editor, MediTech Media needs a medical writer, and a European social networking site needs German, French and Spanish speaking content editors (20-25k).

      There're a few job openings at Emap, including editorial assistant for New Civil Engineer and a junior picture assistant at Zoo.

      On the Guardian, recruiters Reilly are looking for a layout subeditor for a business publication (25k).

      Absolute Publishing has posted a listing on Gumtree for a deputy editor (25k).

      Journalism.co.uk has a job for a subeditor for Kitchens, Bathrooms and Bedrooms magazine (18-19.5k).

      Inspired Selection have an opening for an assistant production editor (ref: 3887).

      And Craigs List has two very different postings for freelance writers. The first is for a dance music website, pay looks to be nominal if anything. The second is for a high-yield investment website.
