      Journalism Jobs - November 8

If you've got a civil engineering background, recruiter Media Contacts (via the Guardian jobsite) has a position as a reporter (£17-20k) for you.

Still on the Guardian, Reed have an opening for an online news editor for Personnel Today. And the Lancet needs a senior editor with medical qualifications for maternity cover.

On Journalism.co.uk, Business Traveller magazine needs a chief subeditor. And the WWF needs a copywriter (£21.5k) in Surrey.

Gumtree has an ad from an international law publisher, looking for assistant comissioning editors.

Something called inLondon.com -- it is apparently "the fastest growing lifestyle and travel magazine in the Antipodean market", which makes me laugh -- is looking for a magazine designer and freelance writers (£50-100/day). Bet you all click that one...

On HoldtheFrontPage, the Slough and Windsor Observer is looking for a news editor. A West London newspaper need a photographer. And they have more regional jobs here.

JobSite's got a job on their site for a junior reporter (£18-20k) at a business magazine.

On Craigslist, a New York lifestyle-ish website is looking for a London-based columnist (unpaid). If you're mulitlingual, some company is looking for translators, proofreaders and copywriters. And that weird set of postings looking for 'experts' for freelance writing (£25/article) has returned -- this must be a joke. They're now looking for people with knowledge on film, grandparents or cheese. Um, right. Any of you gotten in touch with these people?

Future's Proycling needs a production editor.

BBC needs an assistant radio editor (deadline is Nov 13/ref: 661395) and a broadcast assistant (ref: 662993).

And on Press Gazette, recruiters PFJ are looking for a subeditor with a year of experience for a tech B2B (£26k).
