      Journalism Jobs - November 20

It's Monday, so there're a few billion on the Guardian today...

The British Museum is looking for an e-learning editor (£24k). Five News has a job for a production assistant.

      Chambers Legal Guides need writers/researchers.

MacMillian's Optometry Today needs a secretary/editorial assistant. The Royal College of Nurses' publishing house (who knew?) has a part-time job for a production assistant (£22k pro rata).

Something called Trades Exhibitions is looking for a features writer and an editor for a beauty trade publication.

Consumers International need a web editor for their new site (£26k). Nature needs two senior editors.

IPC's Uncut (sounds dirty -- but it's a film magazine... no, not that kind of film) is looking for a deputy editor.

The Associated Press is looking for a news desk editor.

The wonderful Big Issue is looking for a deputy editor. In the print edition, they're also looking for a subeditor, but I can't find it online. Not that I tried that hard, I admit.

And recruiters Reilly have advertised for several business positions, including an editor, chief subeditor, reporter and senior reporter.

The Guardian itself needs a deputy editor for Space in the Weekend section. And an obituaries editor.

HoldtheFrontPage has an advert from some North London paper, looking for trainee reporters with shorthand skills. The same group also need a senior reporter for a west London publication.

Still on HtFP, a London agency needs a staff photographer and freelancers. The people who do the web stuff for the Mail and the Evening Standard have an opening for a communities assistant.

Journalism.co.uk have an advert for an assistant editor for a business publication and an entertainment reporter for Digital Spy (£14-18k).

If you've ever wanted to work in Kiev, they just got their own Time Out. The London edition is looking for a junior graphic designer.

IPC's Ideal Home is looking for a style assistant.

On Gumtree, Seven is again advertising for writers and photogs (unpaid). Might be a good portfolio boost for you students -- that's how it got started, anyway.

Craigslist has an advert from a new entertainment portal looking for writers (unpaid, until they make money... so, yeah, unpaid). And some band wants a writer (£100) to get an article published about them... shouldn't they be advertising for a PR person, then?

On New Media Age, IMG Media are looking for a French-speaking sports journalist.

PFJ have advertised on londoncareers.net for a news editor for a healthcare publication (£30k).

And check out the new Reuters Journalism Institute -- how much would I love to do a fellowship there? That's my new goal.

And the Press Gazette is around for another week -- buy this issue, it may (very, very sadly) be the last...
