Job Roundup - June 29
On the Guardian, a games publisher needs a research assistant and there's a posting for a news and markets editor (£28-36k) with a year's experience.
On Gumtree, some people are looking for a London travel writer. They refuse to consider anyone under the age of 25 -- which is ridiculous -- and they "do not require anyone with less than 2 years full time employment as a copy writer in a related field". But based on their post, they really do need help with their writing. I think all talented 24-year-olds (and under) should apply.
The surf editor job has been reposted on Gumtree, as has a plea from FilmExposed for (unpaid) feature writers.
Press Gazette has set up an email service (as have I -- look to the right) so it's now much easier to sort thru their stuff. I won't post all of it, as there's too much, but will post the more interesting ones.
Today, there're new postings for reporters and subs for AFX newswire and a trainee reporter in Newmarket.
And have found a blog similar to this one, but for freelance writing gigs. Worth a look...

Nicole,
Great site! I'm justing finishing a postgrad journo course, and have found your blog really helpful. Just a suggestion: is there a way of changing the links to each job so that when you click on each link, the job is shown in a new window? I think that might help people keep track of what they're doing, and also make sure that people can get back to your blog easily. Anyway, just a suggestion. Keep up the good work!
Hi Mark,
That's a good point, but some people really hate popups, and some people have them disabled in their browser, so I thought I'd try and avoid them.
However, you can open links in new windows by holding down shift when you click, or by right clicking on the link.
Thanks! Nicole
