      Job Update - June 16

On Journalism.co.uk, there's a posting for a staff writer for a pensions magazine with the FT. This may sound a bit specialized, but they say: "Prior experience of writing in the financial services sector is preferred, but not essential."

Holdthefrontpage has a listing for Newsquest, for freelance business writers. Something similar has been posted before on this site, so it may be a repeat. (Look under "Reporting Jobs".)

Inspired Selection has a job for a production assistant for a science publisher; you need a degree in biochem or similar. (Ref 3713)

And, I can't believe I didn't advertise this one before, so my apologies if you've never heard of it. During the Edinburgh Festival, a very cool company called Three Weeks reviews every single show, as well as the side festivals. They don't pay, but it's an awesome experience. You stay in Edinburgh for the full length (or shorter, if that's all you can do) and spend all day and night watching and reviewing -- a great way to work on your writing. More details here. ThreeWeeks have also expanded to Brighton, and look to be expanding to London. So check that out, too.

Oh, and they have something called a Campus Music Network, if you're into music reviewing.

Festival FM is the affiliated radio station for the Edinburgh Fest. They are still recruiting, so check them out too.

I'll add all that to the internship page as well; none of it pays, but they're good people, and it's great experience.

Okay... moving on, to Gumtree. Some recent graduate is putting together a media magazine, and wants you to help for free. And media company Illumina needs a sub for a ten-week contract. But they'll pay you.

On Craigs List, a Central European travel mag needs a female columnist. Apply by June 21. And art site PicassoMio.com needs writers. And, KINKKK.com, a site about um, "kinky heterosexuality", needs contributers.

      Have a great weekend...
