Internship at Green Futures
Was emailed this one, looks like a great opportunity for students:
Green Futures magazine – the country’s leading source of news and debate on how Britain can make the shift towards sustainability – is looking for a motivated individual to volunteer with the team.
We are flexible about arrangements, but the intern would ideally work 2 days a week over a period of 3 months, from the end of September 2007 until Christmas. The internship is unpaid, but travel and lunch expenses will be covered.
Tasks include:
· Production support (proofreading, picture chasing)
· Updating the Green Futures website
· Administration
· Research on specific forthcoming feature articles
· Researching and writing snippets columns
· Identifying and writing short news stories
This is a great opportunity to gain experience of working on a magazine. That’s why the person we have in mind will have:
· An interest and knowledge in sustainable development
· A high level of literacy and an ability to write clearly
· An ability to carry out research without ‘micro management’
· A willingness to pitch in with a variety of tasks within a small team
Send applications – which should include a CV, letter, samples of previous writing, and an idea for a ‘Briefings’ news story within the magazine (see the magazine's guidelines for details) – to post@greenfutures.org.uk or Hannah Bullock, Green Futures, 19-23 Ironmonger Row, London EC1V 3QN. Closing date Monday 6 August 2007.
